members. An HSA is a tax-advantaged custodial account established for an
individual that is used to pay for current and future medical expenses.

In order to have an HSA, you must meet eligibility guidelines established by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). One of the most important factors in determining eligibility is whether you are covered by a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), which is required. Please consult with your employer or benefits provider to determine if your plan meets the IRS criteria for a High Deductible Health Plan.

HSAs are a great alternative to other medical savings plans since there is no “use it or lose it” provision. Funds can be left on deposit until you have a qualified medical expense.
