Scholarship & Grant Programs

First Credit Union

First Credit Union cares about financial literacy and higher education. Since 2007 First Credit Union has awarded nearly $20,000 in college scholarships and financial education grants through its Scholarship & Grant Programs. These programs are available exclusively to First Credit Union members.

College Scholarship Program

Each year First Credit Union awards up to five (5) “Imagine the Possibilities” $500 College scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to enroll in a full-time course of study at an Arizona college, university or trade school. Application deadline is December 31st. Scholarship(s) awarded the following February. Applications for the 2016-2017 program will be accepted starting in August. Applications will be available for download in July.

Youth Financial Education Grant Program

Each year First Credit Union awards up to three (3) $250 grants to Arizona educators and other community organizations to be used to promote financial literacy to youth. Application deadline is December 31st. Grant(s) awarded the following February. Applications for the 2016-2017 program will be accepted starting in August. Applications will be available for download in July.

Program Recipients

The 2015-2016 College Scholarship and Financial Education Grant recipients will be awarded on March 1, 2016. Following are the 2014-2015 College Scholarship Recipients:

  • Nicole Donlea - Millennium H.S., Goodyear
  • Caroline Jenson - Verrado H.S., Buckeye
  • Marissa Scherff - Sunnyslope H.S., Phoenix
