First Credit Union Donates Over $20,000 to Children's Miracle Network
Chandler, AZ – First Credit Union donated $20,764 to Children's Miracle Network (CMN) hospitals as a result of their 2011 “Credit Unions for Kids” fundraising campaign supported with generous donations from credit union members, employees and vendors. The money raised was donated to Arizona CMN hospitals, Tucson Medical Center (TMC) and Phoenix Children’s Hospital (PCH). The money will be used to help support TMC’s Pediatric Unit and PCH's “One Darn Cool School,” which is in-hospital program that provides K-12 education to hospitalized children.
First Credit Union’s fundraising efforts included selling candy bars, piggy banks, placards, stuffed kangaroos and yo-yos at its branch teller lines. The credit union also sold casual days to its employees with all money going to CMN. Additionally, the credit union participated in CO-OP Financial Services’ “Miracle Match” program that matches up to 100% of money raised through new fundraising projects benefitting CMN.
Credit unions across the country raise money for CMN annually through the Credit Union for Kids campaign. Children's Miracle Network is a non-profit organization that helps save and improve the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals across North America. All money raised stays in the community.
